Day 63 of 280, first trimester
You are 9 weeks exactly
By the end of this week, your baby's digestive system is developing fast, although it won't work properly for some time.
217 days until your due date
Your baby is developing quickly. The simple tube along the gut has changed most at its upper end. Now the lower part widens and divides into what will become the rectum at the back and the bladder and urethra at the front.
The mouth is open to the amniotic fluid, but a membrane is still in place and will disappear in one to two weeks. The lower bowel isn't mature yet and doesn't move anything along.
The rest of the large and small bowel is still lengthening. The duodenum, the first part of the small bowel, is still a solid tube. The pancreas, gallbladder, and liver have all formed buds off the upper small bowel, but none of them is doing any digestive work yet.
Ask a Doctor
I've had terrible headaches since getting pregnant. Could computer work be the cause?
Tension headaches and migraines are common in pregnancy, probably because of changing hormones, and long spells at a computer can bring on severe headaches through eye strain and sitting still, which causes tension.
Take even more screen breaks now (you'll probably need more bathroom breaks anyway). If that doesn't help, ask whether you can do non-computer tasks for a while. Headaches are often worse in the first trimester.

Screens and headaches
Long periods at a screen can make pregnancy headaches worse. Take regular breaks and drink plenty of water, because dehydration can also make headaches worse.
