Day 95 of 280, second trimester
You are 13 weeks and 4 days
Your baby's central nervous system, including the brain and spine, now has all its basic parts.
185 days until your due date
The core development of your baby's central nervous system is done, and it now continues through four overlapping processes: nerve cells multiply; they migrate to their final positions and take on specific jobs; the connections between them become more organized; and their fibers become insulated.
The nervous system is now growing at its fastest, which is why the head makes up half the baby's length. Both nerve cells and their supporting cells are multiplying. Most nerve cells are made during pregnancy, but supporting cells keep increasing through the first year after birth. The supporting cells help with migration, which is mostly finished by 22 weeks.
Ask a Doctor
Can I keep jogging?
Yes, if you ran regularly before pregnancy, but take it easy; this isn't the time for a marathon. Avoid overheating: don't run on hot days, and drink plenty of water whatever the weather. Wear a good sports bra, and run on soft surfaces such as grass when you can to reduce stress on your joints, especially your knees.
Focus on
Nutrition: Perfect pork
Pork is an excellent source of protein, vitamin B6, and zinc, all essential in pregnancy. Its fatty reputation is undeserved; some cuts, like spare ribs, bacon, and ham, are fatty, but many cuts have less saturated fat than beef.
Choose the leanest cuts, which usually have "loin" in the name, such as tenderloin or top loin chop. A serving is about 3 oz (85 g).
Pork is healthy, tasty, and quick to cook. Try lean chops sprinkled with salt, grilled, and served with apple sauce, to satisfy a salty-sweet craving healthily. Always prepare pork on a separate cutting board and cook it thoroughly to reduce the risk of food poisoning.

Jogging in pregnancy
Jogging is good aerobic exercise in the early months, but only if you're already used to it. Don't take it up for the first time in pregnancy.
